On July 20 Colombia celebrates the birth of its struggle for independence and of the new republic. To commemorate it, routes have been designed to revive a step-by-step, village-by-village journey through the history of the times of that great event. So, you will be able to follow not only the steps of the heroes of the struggle for emancipation; but also, the steps of the José Celestino Mutis on his Botanical Expedition.
As they goes along such paths of the past, travelers will be able to come closer to Colombia´s history and the monument erected in honor of that past, and the life of today – scenery, crafts and good food included, with other expressions of culture that make a journey through Colombia an unforgettable experience.
