44 kilometers from Manizales is the Brisas refuge, which welcomes travelers to the Los Nevados Natural National Park. In this 58,300-hectare reserve, it is possible to practice activities such as mountain biking and ice and rock climbing. Some birds that inhabit the park are the paramo hummingbird, the crested eagle, the Andean duck, the red partridge, and the condor.

This park with its extremely high and majestic Andean peaks is located in the jurisdiction of the departments of Caldas, Risaralda, Quindío, and Tolima. The snowy peaks Quindío, Santa Isabel, El Cisne, El Ruiz, and Tolima are above 4,800 meters above sea level and are home to unique species in the world.

The visitor center is located in a strategic sector of the Manizales – Brisas - Villamaría circuit, whose landscape complex integrates the ecosystems of forest, paramo, super paramo, and nival, passing through the moraines that resemble lunar landscapes. In addition, the Otún lagoon offers a serene landscape. In the park, it is possible to carry out a great variety of recreational and high mountain sports activities.
